( CHARGE RECORDINGS / DNB ARENA HALL OF FAMER )
The very definition of a legend, Mampi Swift has been involved in the drum & bass scene since the early 90’s. It was in 1990 that Swift started DJing and found himself behind the counter of Lucky Spin records. With access to the studio next door and an in-house engineer, Swift jumped at the valuable opportunity to start learning how to produce. Releases soon started filtering out with labels like Suburban Base, True Playaz, Trouble On Vinyl & Frontline all taking tracks.
In the DJ booth, Mampi is a force to be reckoned with and it’s arguably where he feels most at home. A pioneer of the double drop style of DJing his unmistakeable presence behind the decks has formed the back bone of many a line up from the UK to the States and everywhere in between. A true originator he has influenced and shaped the scene like few others.
( ISH CHAT / SHOGUN AUDIO )
Since their emergence in 2006, SpectraSoul have carved a truly unique position, not only in Drum & Bass, but electronic music as a whole. Having released music on only the very finest and most respected labels in the scene, from Goldie's legendary Metalheadz, to dBridge's boundary breaking Exit Records, and Kasra's ever progressive Critical Music, they went on to become vital members of Friction's irrepressible Shogun Audio imprint.
2016 sees the duo spread their wings and launch their very own label, Ish Chat Music — with the plan to release with greater frequency and and to present a broader and more varied selection of SpectraSoul music; musically rich and diverse as ever. Keep your eyes peeled in 2016…
( PLAYAZ )
The Annix affiliation with Playaz manifested itself late in 2012 when ‘Late Manouvre’ found its way on to the ‘The Flavours Vol. 4’ EP, alongside the likes of Majistrate and Optiv. This catapulted Annix into 2013, with consistent support from DJ Hype on his Kiss FM show, as well as a release on DJ Hazard’s esteemed Radius Recordings. From here, Annix were selected by Hype to perform at the Playaz Easter Special, which also allowed them to compile their first Fabric Live mix for the iconic London venue. In Playaz, Annix have stated they now have a label that they ‘are 100% happy with’, and despite a quiet few months of writing and perfecting their material, Annix insist their new batch of songs will ‘cause some damage’! and are certainly ones to watch moving into 2016.
